Thailand Train, Ferry and Coach Tickets Online
It is especially important to book any first or second class train seats in advance, as these usually sell out quite some time before departure dates. If you plan to travel third class, these tickets can simply be purchased at the train station before boarding, but no seat is guaranteed.
Thailand Train Classes
1st Class: Twin cabins with air conditioning that are pre-allocated, and where the seats convert into fully flat beds.2nd Class: Generally, a choice is offered between pre-allocated seats in an air-conditioned carriage, or pre-allocated sleeper beds with air-conditioning in dedicated carriages, but without separate cabins.
3rd Class: Carriages with wooden seats and without air-conditioning. No seat allocation is made so you may have to stand if the carriage is crowded.
Ticket Collection and Delivery
You can opt to collect your tickets in Thailand, or to have them sent to you anywhere in the world. We recommend collecting them whilst you are in Thailand, at the most convenient ticket collection point offered, and at least an hour before your departure.
Collection points include Bangkok (from the conveniently located DOB building opposite Hualamphong station; collections here are free); Chiang Mai: (from the open-all-hours Bossotel hotel reception opposite Chiang Mai train station), Surat Thani (at the station parcels office), in Nong Khai (from the station baggage office) or in Ayutthaya (from the parcels office.)
